Part 1: Webinars
Workshop participants will attend three 1.5-hour webinars with Dan Wixted (Cornell Cooperative Extension) and Drew Martin (OISC) covering topics on:
- May 29, 2024: Ground truthing content, writing and using learning objectives, and tying the manual to the exam
- June 12, 2024: Introduction to multiple-choice item formats and best practices for exam writing
- June 26, 2024: Applying best practices for multiple-choice items
Part 2: In-Person
At the AAPSE National Conference July 22-25, 2024, participants will be able to sharpen their skills with Shannah Whithaus (UCANR), Jolene Warnke (University of Minnesota), Dan Wixted, and Drew Martin and practice the following:
- Improving exam questions using exam writing guidelines
- Reworking existing exam items
- Writing new items based on existing materials
Webinar series participation is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED to prepare for the in-person practice workshops.
